Frequently asked questions

What are the microneedles made of?

The microneedles of the DEEP head are made of SUS 304 stainless steel. This material is commonly used in the medical field for making surgical instruments and trial instruments, as well as in orthopaedics, orthodontics and dentistry, due to its resistance to corrosion, to its correct bio-mechanical behaviour, and to a favorable bio-affinity. Among the components of SUS 304 stainless steel are activated carbon, amorphous silicon powder, colloidal manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, nickel element, nitrogen, chromium and iron. The microneedles have been subjected to several tests to evaluate their safety, including the cytotoxicity test based on the agar diffusion methodology which found that there is no toxic effect. The quantity of potentially toxic ions released is well below the maximum quantities declared within the safety limits, as well as the threshold value normally absorbed with the daily diet; therefore, microneedles do not pose a threat to health or negatively affect facial tissue.

Are the microneedles safe to use?

DEEP microneedles are made exactly like any other injection needle with the difference that their length is only 0.5 mm.The particular drum head prevents the needles from sinking into the skin, thus avoiding going beyond the basal dermal plate. The microneedles made of SUS304 stainless steel have passed all safety tests including those relating to toxicity.

What is the difference between common derma rollers and DEEP microneedle heads?

The derma roller is equipped with needles that are glided over the skin, offering a reduced ability to control pressure and thereby resulting in a painful sensation. The needles of the derma roller serve the sole purpose of creating micro-lesions on the skin rather than delivering substances into it. The microneedles of DEEP are designed to inject our serums into the epidermis by allowing the passage of the serum inside them for release into the skin. The absence of pain is linked to the length of the microneedles and, most importantly, the ability to control their penetration.
